Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 10 with a minimum of $32,094 and a mid-point of $38,600. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

Clean, prepare, paint and stain walls and trim. Install and perform repair work on ceilings and floors

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  2. Three years specialized painting experience including installation of ceiling tile, vinyl floors, drywall taping and sanding.
  3. Basic knowledge of painting skills and tool use required. Must be experienced using spray equipment.
  4. Ability to work under minimal supervision and to be able to prioritize jobs.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Analyze simple drawings, specifications and general requirements. Plan work scope, methods, tools and materials. Apply a variety of finish materials using the proper tools and equipment.
  2. Install and perform repair work on ceilings and floors. Prep and install floors, such as vinyl floor tile and base. Replace and/install ceiling tiles and grid work.
  3. Lock and unlock buildings and classrooms per college's schedule of events.
  4. Clean up and maintain shop and work areas.

Other Duties:

  1. Assist Operations & Maintenance staff in any college furniture and equipment relocations; dismantle/reassemble furniture and equipment.
  2. Assist Operations & Maintenance staff with any facility event set-ups, as required.
  3. Assist in any special cleaning projects due to building renovations and new construction.
  4. Provide assistance to grounds department with emergency snow removal.
  5. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  6. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
