Job Description
The Manager Business Functions facilitates, promotes and role models the philosophy and style consistent with the Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center leadership statement. In particular, instills within the team the values as identified in the Mission and Vision Statements. Supervises staff and oversees the daily functions and management of the business and clinic office operations. Ensures the timely and accurate performance of scheduling, pre-registration and registration, patient flow, collection and posting of payments and charges, billing coordination and follow up. Works with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians and other non-physician caregivers and support staff to maintain an environment that is responsive to patient needs, encourages customer service, and promotes employee satisfaction. Plays a critical role as a liaison across areas and clusters. Facilitates the operation and growth of the team and its members. Actively supports the hospital's/cluster's Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service goals, adhering to all hospital policy and procedures, individually and as an effective team member. Works closely with Administrator on cluster-wide planning, fiscal management, managed care contracting and provider credentialing issues. Prepares and analyzes financial and statistical information to aid in decision making.

2. Leads business functions in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

5. Facilitates timely communication between leadership.
6. Serves as a resource person and role model.
7. Manages variance to daily operations.
8. Facilitates the team process at the team level to include training.
9. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
10.The authority to hire, separate, promote, demote, write and administer performance evaluations.
11.Other job functions as assigned.
