Job Description:

The Senior Consumer Insights Researcher will be part of Zurn Elkay's Industrial Design and Insights team. Our team occupies a central role in uncovering compelling ways to solve problems for our customers and their customers in a range of markets - from K-12 to high end hospitality and healthcare.

You'll partner with cross-functional teams who are passionate about human-centered innovation from product management, engineering, and commercialization.

In a typical day you will:

  • Spearhead the design and execution of custom qualitative and quantitative consumer research and analysis. This may Including research briefs, agency proposals and survey designs.
  • You will support the development of concept renderings, prototypes, concept statements, and be adept at working within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Provide analysis and triangulate insights across various primary and secondary data sources.
  • Be a thought leader in research best practices and latest techniques. This may extend to developing the Zurn Elkay research stack, identifying and acquiring market share and market sizing reports, helping assess integrity and quality of potential reports/resources, and ensuring consistent and correct interpretation across internal stakeholders
  • Support the design and execution of Zurn Elkay's trend program. Creating and presenting trend reports via analysis of secondary resources: identifying recurring themes for relevant cultural, lifestyle, market, and economic trends that impact our product categories.
  • Maintain and grow Zurn Elkay's digital research library. Cataloging all existing research and updating with new research, ensuring access and training to those that need it. Helping other team members search database and create customized, topic-based research dossiers as needed
  • Successfully represent the voice of the customer across business units, build empathy, and support confident decision making.

Experience and skills requirements:

  • You are curious, inspired, and excited make an impact on a rapidly evolving industry.
  • BA or BSc in related field - e.g. social sciences, economics, or design.
  • You have a minimum 5 years of demonstrable consumer research experience across both quantitative and qualitative disciplines with ~3 years at a research agency or research service
  • Experience in manufacturing, durable goods, or in water quality industries will be a considerable plus.
  • Demonstrable experience in both B2B and B2C research will be a considerable plus.
  • You are skilled at quantitative survey writing, programming, and fielding, and could also moderate a focus group in a pinch.
