  • HYBRID - If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.
Job Description

As a Technology Product Owner, you will help to define the vision of the products we create; drive the planning, prioritisation and execution of backlogs and deliver new features that support our strategic goals. You will do this based on understanding the relevant end to end business processes, underlying business capabilities and related journey maps and strategies that elevate both student and colleague experiences.

  • Responsible for translating business needs into functional and technical requirements with clear and concise acceptance criteria by understanding the relevant business processes within the assigned portfolio, journey maps of the impacted personas and also understanding the technology capability and functionality that support the relevant business process
  • Participates in prioritization and requirements refinement sessions leading to definition of features and stories for technical breakdown and planning, ensuring all requirements are well understood by the delivery teams
  • Assures consistent quality of production ready deliverables before promoting to business owners or end users by conducting or coordinating Quality Assurance Testing.
  • Maintain continuous relationships with colleagues across all business functions that are impacted by the assigned portfolio and underlying business capabilities and technology solutions - use these relationships to ensure that timely inputs are provided to support committed deliverables and timelines.
  • Coordinates frequently with relevant delivery teams to ensure successful completion of competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Engages with vendors to bridge potential knowledge gaps and provide ancillary support to the Business Owners and SMEs as needed.
  • Provide ongoing business process, business capability and product knowledge to relevant delivery teams and add to the existing knowledge base to avoid single point of failure knowledge gaps.
  • Responsible for progressing all deliverables to "done" status and meet acceptance criteria by coordinating production deployment, post-implementation analysis/feedback, and ongoing support plan.
  • Support IT management and business sponsors for considerations involving selecting vendors and providing information on best practices, innovations, and trends for products to ensure that organization's products meet competitive market demands.
  • Support definition of objectives, definition of success metrics and articulation of business outcomes for assigned initiatives and product enhancements, ensuring KPIs and targets are tracked, reported on and support identifying impediments that are preventing from the realization of defined benefits
  • Use approved tools and methodologies to manage workloads, communicate progress, ensure timely completion of deliverables and team adherence to maintaining accurately and consistently all delivery related metrics for assigned initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Three (3) to five (5) plusyears of Product Management/Product Ownership/Technical Business Analyst experience owning one or more products in an Agile, SaaS Technology environment, or other equivalent methodology.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and work in a fast paced environment with many initiatives.
  • Ability to manage a variety of business, IT and vendor resources including managing vendor deliverables based on agreed contracts and statements of work.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Proficient with Agile Product Management, Business Analysis and Business Process Mapping practices and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, ADO, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve issues and determine effective business and alternative IT solutions.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability in managing multiple initiatives.
  • Capability to influence and instill credibility in sponsors, peers and subordinates by meeting initiative milestones, deadlines and budget.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $59,923.09 and $108,334.92. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
