Job Summary:

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Under the direction of the Web Manager the IT Technical Associate performs advanced website structure and design duties.

Job Description:

  • Designs, creates and updates server-side and front-end website and CMS (Content Management System) structure and functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, the university CMS and other tools.

  • Develops web-based applications.

  • Researches, installs and updates web-based software and updates server-side databases to add functionality to the University website and CMS.

  • Troubleshoots errors and applies routine testing and maintenance to the website.

  • Approves university web pages based on best practices, proper branding and accessibility standards.

  • Monitors web content and ensures search engine optimization, fixes broken links, corrects misspellings, formats images and handles expired pages.

  • Maintains University identity standards in all web and electronic communications.

  • Creates web forms, graphics, audio, video and other media using web authoring software and other tools.

  • Conducts formal training for university departments and staff on such topics as authoring web pages with the CMS, best practices, proper branding, accessibility, functionality, search engine optimization and other issues.

  • Provides the university community with advanced level support to resolve errors and produce quality content.

  • Performs related projects and duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:

A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

  • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
  • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
  • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
  • Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)

3. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.

Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position may be required.

Departmental Preferences

  • Experience with Drupal is a plus

(This position requires a background check.)

Salary: $19.75 Hour

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision benefits, generous time off plans, and participation in the State Universities Retirement System.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on departmental needs)
